Hello!
My name is Allegra and I do food! I grew up in a small, marble-carving town in northern Tuscany and have been traveling, cooking, eating, and enjoying life ever since. The daughter of two artists, food has always been my creative outlet. While I learned my way about the kitchen from my parents, my real culinary journey did not begin until I was diagnosed with Celiac's Disease in my early teens. It was a hard blow for a girl raised on pizza and pasta but I decided to make the most to it and learn to cook well enough that I'd never miss the gluten.
Since then I have traveled to over a dozen countries, learning about international cuisine from the people who cook it. My love of food led me to a degree in Fusion Cuisine and Restaurant Management and to a wonderful series of jobs both working in and running kitchens, catering operations, and cooking as a private chef.
Once more, medical challenges have changed my life and commercial cooking has become my past, but my love of food remains as strong as ever! I truly believe that everyone can learn to cook and that all it takes is a little technique, a lot of passion for good ingredients, and a dash of confidence. I want to share what I've learned with my community and friends and help those who struggle with special diets adjust and thrive.
Food is love.
It's a philosophy I live by every day as I grow, cook, and serve the best food I can. I hope to share that love with you, so welcome in, have a seat, and I hope you're hungry.
